        Frequently Asked Questions

How reliable is the ECG (EKG) feature?

records a single-lead (Lead I) electrocardiogram by measuring electrical signals between your left and right arms when you touch the side electrode. This is useful for screening basic rhythm patterns — such as sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, or bradycardia.

Best practice: Sit still with your arm relaxed on a table. Press your finger firmly on the side electrode and hold for 30 seconds without moving or talking. Clean, dry skin improves conductivity — avoid lotion on your wrist before measurement.

Why does the ECG measurement always say "poor contact"?

Ring-based ECG requires simultaneous skin contact at two points: the inner band sensors against your finger and your other hand's finger touching the outer electrode. Dry skin, lotion, or cold fingers reduce conductivity and cause contact failures.

Fix: Ensure the ring's inner sensors are clean (wipe with a dry cloth). Slightly moisten your fingertip before touching the electrode. Press firmly and hold still for 30 seconds. Sit with your hand relaxed on a table — arm tension creates electrical noise. If it still fails, try the opposite hand for the electrode contact.

Why is the blood pressure reading different from my doctor's cuff?

Because the measurement methods are fundamentally different. estimates blood pressure via PPG pulse wave analysis — it does not have an inflatable air pump cuff. Medical blood pressure monitors physically occlude your brachial artery with a cuff to measure systolic/diastolic pressure directly. PPG-based estimation analyzes your pulse waveform shape and speed to infer pressure values.

What to expect: A variance of ±10-15 mmHg from a medical upper-arm cuff is normal. Wrist position relative to your heart significantly affects readings — even a 2-inch height difference can shift readings by 5-10 mmHg.

Best practice: Keep your wrist at heart level during measurement (rest your arm on a table). Sit upright with feet flat and legs uncrossed. Avoid caffeine, smoking, or exercise 30 minutes before measuring. Use this feature for daily trend tracking, not for clinical blood pressure management.

Why does my blood pressure show different values each time?

Blood pressure is a constantly fluctuating physiological variable — it changes with posture, emotion, caffeine, activity, and even speaking. Fitaos product estimates blood pressure through PPG pulse wave analysis (no inflatable cuff), which is inherently more variable than a medical cuff reading.

What to expect: Expect ±10-15 mmHg variance from an upper-arm cuff. If you see large swings, check that the ring is worn snugly on the correct finger and that you remain still during measurement. Focus on your 7-day and 30-day average trends rather than individual spot readings.

Best practice: Measure at the same time each day (e.g., morning after waking). Sit quietly for 2-3 minutes first. Keep the ring hand at heart level on a table. Avoid caffeine, nicotine, or exercise 30 minutes before measuring.

Why does my heart rate jump around or sometimes show inaccurate readings?

PPG heart rate monitoring is sensitive to wearing tightness, arm movement, and skin contact quality. During exercise, arm motion creates "motion artifacts" that can confuse the optical sensor. Even at rest, loose wearing or hairy wrists can cause intermittent readings.

Best practice: Wear the watch snug (one finger should just fit between the band and your wrist). During workouts, tighten one notch. Clean the sensor area (back of watch) weekly with a dry cloth. If readings seem erratic while you're perfectly still, restart the watch and try the opposite wrist.

Why does the battery only last 1-2 days instead of the advertised 3-5 days?

The 3-5 day claim is based on basic mode (time display, step counting, occasional heart rate check). In real-world use with all health monitoring features active (continuous heart rate, automatic blood pressure, sleep tracking, notifications), 1.5-2.5 days is typical.

To extend battery: Reduce screen brightness to 40-50%. Turn off "always-on" display if not needed. Disable continuous heart rate monitoring if you only need spot checks. Reduce automatic health measurement frequency in the companion app. The watch supports fast charging — 30 minutes gets you to ~60%.

Why does Bluetooth keep disconnecting? How do I maintain a stable connection?

Bluetooth disconnections are typically caused by phone power-saving features that kill background apps. Both Android and iOS aggressively close apps to save battery, which breaks the watch connection.

Android: Settings → Apps → [Companion App] → Battery → set to "Unrestricted" or "Don't optimize." Lock the app in your recent apps list (swipe up → tap the lock icon).
iPhone: Settings → [Companion App] → enable Background App Refresh. Avoid force-closing the app from the app switcher.
Both: Keep watch and phone within 5 meters (16 feet) with no thick walls between them. If persistent, go to the app's device settings, forget the device, and re-pair.

Why do some health features show "measuring" forever or fail to start?

This usually means the sensor is not making proper skin contact or the watch hasn't completed its warm-up cycle. The PPG sensor needs 5-15 seconds of stable contact before it can output a reading. If the watch is loose, the sensor loses skin contact intermittently and cannot lock onto a signal.

Fix: Tighten the band. Check the back sensor is clean. Keep the watch away from the speaker/microphone area during measurement (electromagnetic interference can affect sensors). If ECG specifically fails, ensure your finger is pressing the side electrode firmly. Restart the watch if all else fails.

Why is the screen hard to see outdoors in sunlight?

AMOLED screens — while excellent indoors — have limited peak brightness compared to sunlight-reflective LCDs. Direct sunlight washes out the display; this is common across all AMOLED smartwatches in this price range, including mainstream brands.

Workaround: Cup your other hand over the screen to create shade. Choose a high-contrast watch face with bold, light-colored digits on a dark background (available in the companion app). Enable "Raise to Wake" so the screen activates at full brightness when you look at it.

The setup instructions are too small / hard to understand. Is there a simpler way?

Quick setup steps: (1) Charge the watch fully. (2) Download the companion app by scanning the QR code in the box or searching the app store for the name shown in the manual. (3) Open the app, create an account, and grant ALL permissions when prompted — especially Location (required for Bluetooth on Android) and Notifications. (4) In the app, tap "Add Device" → select your watch model → confirm pairing on the watch screen.

Why does sleep tracking say I was in deep sleep when I was actually watching TV?

This is a known limitation of all wearable sleep trackers. Sleep stage detection relies on heart rate variability and movement patterns. If you lie perfectly still while watching TV, your physiological signals can closely resemble light sleep — and the algorithm cannot distinguish between the two without brainwave data (EEG).

This is not a defect; it's the trade-off of wrist/finger-based sleep tracking vs. clinical polysomnography (which uses brain electrodes).

Best practice: Enable sleep mode right before you intend to sleep, rather than letting auto-detection run while you're still relaxing in bed. Avoid screen time 30 minutes before bed for both better sleep quality and more accurate tracking. The ring's sleep data is most useful for comparing night-to-night patterns, not minute-by-minute stage accuracy.

Why isn't the sleep tracking function working properly?

Fitaos products' sleep tracking function relies on detecting sustained low activity levels and a drop in heart rate. Common issues: (1) If you toss and turn frequently, the algorithm may fragment your sleep or even miss some sleep completely. (2) If the watch is worn too loosely, activity detection may become unreliable. (3) Manual sleep mode vs. automatic detection: Fitaos products may require you to manually enter sleep mode before bed (please check the settings in the companion app).

Which finger is recommended for wearing the Fitaos Smart Ring?

For optimal performance and accuracy, we recommend wearing the Ring on the index finger. This finger typically has stronger arterial blood flow, enhancing measurement precision. However, the ring maintains consistent accuracy whether worn on the index, middle, or ring finger.

Why does my ring keep disconnecting from my phone?

Because Fitaos products are small, their Bluetooth antennas are smaller than those of watches, resulting in a shorter effective range of only 3-5 meters (10-16 feet). Furthermore, to conserve power, the ring doesn't maintain a continuous Bluetooth connection—it connects automatically when you open the companion app to sync data and disconnects automatically after syncing is complete.

This is by design: data is stored on the ring and uploaded when the app is opened. Brief disconnections (1-2 hours) will not result in data loss. To force syncing, open the companion app while the ring is close and then pull down the data screen to refresh. On Android devices, set the app's battery mode to "Unlimited" to prevent the system from interrupting background syncing.

How accurate is the blood glucose (blood sugar) reading on this watch?

The Fitaos product estimates blood glucose trends using non-invasive PPG optical spectroscopy — it does not sample your blood. This technology detects metabolic-related optical signal variations through the skin, which correlate with glycemic changes but are not direct measurements.

What to expect: Readings can differ by 10-30 mg/dL (0.8-1.5 mmol/L) from a finger-prick glucometer or CGM. The watch is useful for observing trends — noticing when your glucose rises after meals or drops after exercise. It is not suitable for insulin dosing, medication decisions, or diagnosing diabetes.

Best practice: Wear the watch snugly one finger-width above your wrist bone. Sit still with your arm resting on a table during measurement. Take 3 consecutive readings and average them for better consistency. Use the companion app's calibration feature by entering a reference value from your glucometer for improved trend alignment.

Is there a calibration process for more accurate readings?

Yes. The companion app includes a personal calibration feature for blood pressure and blood glucose. Enter a reference value from a certified device (upper-arm BP cuff or finger-prick glucometer), and the app adjusts the algorithm offset to align with your personal baseline. Re-calibrate once per week for best results. Note that calibration improves trend alignment but does not make the readings clinically equivalent to medical devices.

The band irritates my skin or feels uncomfortable. What can I do?

The factory band is made of standard silicone, which can cause irritation for users with sensitive skin or when worn tightly for extended periods. Silicone allergies are uncommon but possible — symptoms include redness, itching, or rash under the band area.

Solutions: (1) Loosen the band slightly — it only needs to be snug enough for the sensor to make contact. (2) Clean the band daily with mild soap and water; sweat and dead skin buildup is a common irritant. (3) Alternate wrists — wear on the opposite wrist at night. (4) Consider replacing the band with a nylon woven or Milanese stainless steel mesh strap (check compatibility — some bracelet models have fixed bands).

        Customer Reviews

        Overall rating: 4.9 / 5 from 36 reviews.

I love the ring, waterproof, stays charged for at least a week if not more! Easy pesy app functions! The charging case is small and convenient! I use it everyday for exercise and step monitoring!

Great value, better than expected, good battery life

It’s a nice ring and the functions are great. The blood glucose monitor is way off though. All the other monitors are pretty accurate as a general health indicator. Hopefully there will be an update to correct the glucose level readings. I would definitely buy again if something happened to mine.

Nice design, slim enough to forget it even at night. I use it for the glucose monitoring and it seems surprisingly accurate compared to a CGM. You can even choose if you want it in mmol/L or mg/dl in the parameters. After 4 days of use, the battery is still 100% full. The only drawback is that you need to carry around your phone everywhere and reconnect the device very regularly. A real bargain for the price, I highly recommend it !

This is an awesome way to keep track of my health and it is so easy to use the app. This product is spot on with the readings it is amazing and mind blowing at the same time. It is an all in one health check and you don’t realise you are wearing it

Got the ring mostly for the glucose monitoring and it works as advertised. The readings are a little low compared to the finger pricking. So I can adjust accordingly and if it gets close to top of normal range I will verify. Looking forward to far less finger pricking.

It's for my husband and he says it's comfortable and it works really well with the app. Easy to use.

        Excellent!….

        Love it 😊

        .

Fits well Does well to promote self awareness and self love

precise compared blod pressure, glucose o2 etc

I am absolutely in love with this smart health ring! It looks sleek and elegant, but don not let the design fool youit is packed with powerful features. It tracks my ecg, blood oxygen, blood pressure, sleep, and steps accurately, and the app syncs easily with my phone?

Ive been using this for several weeks now. Overall I am impressed. I can not say how accurate the sleep tracker is exactly but based on my observations about when I know I fell asleep, when I know I was dreaming (REM sleep), when I woke up and fell back asleep, this sleep tracker seems pretty accurate. Im actually impressed.

Very good looking and so far the battery has lasted very long time.

I have been using the Smart Health Ring for several weeks now, and I am genuinely impressed by how much functionality is packed into such a sleek, lightweight design.

Beautiful ring would recommend it for all the functions it dose no more pricking my finger just love it

Love the ring and all it is added features. I bought rings from ouring before, but they were too expensive. This one is worth the money and I'm very satisfied.

Great features, well constructed and outstanding battery life. Wish more had location temperature. Instruction book could be a little more comprehensive.

?I also appreciate that there is no subscription fee huge bonus! It is comfortable to wear all day and night, even while showering, thanks to the IP68 waterproof rating. It is the perfect combo of fashion and function.?

I never thought a ring could monitor an ecg. It's crazy, but it's really great.

The ring is comfortable to wear, easy to read and easy to navigate

Free lifetime software updates keep adding new features It keeps getting better

After 3 days of wearing it, I still have 40% battery left. At this price point, I would buy it again!

I tried the ring that is on TV over a year ago. Way too expensive. I found this ring. In the beginning it had an issue or two. Customer service was amazing. They answered questions and helped me to get this working great.

This was a huge selling point for me. Unlike other smart rings and trackers, I get full access to the data without paying extra.

Accurate health tracking: The ring monitors my heart rate, ecg, blood oxygen, and even blood pressure reliably throughout the day. The readings are consistent with those from my smartwatch and home BP cuff.

I have worn the ring for 3 days now. It took a bit to get used to wearing a bulky ring, but I think I am there. I am really impressed with the vitals readings. The BP reads high, but it is consistent.?

My husband and I each have one and really like them. I had a bit of a struggle getting it to pair with my phone but I figured it out quickly

Love my ring...love that it is easy to set up and it does so much! Never had a ring that does blood pressure before

The ring works well. I had a doctors appointment today and my blood pressure was 130/85. I ran the blood pressure on my watch and it was 128/85.

As someone who wanted a fitness tracker but did not want to wear a bulky watch 24/7or pay a monthly feethis ring is exactly what I was looking for.

Does everything it advertises its able to do. Love the product. Would purchase again.

        Bought so many for gifts

I absolutely love the fitaos r06. It does exactly as described. I've been looking for a ring that monitors BP and happened upon this product by sheer luck. It does exactly as advertised graphs are easy to read. Especially love that it also monitors sleep function while in sitting position do to physical situation I often have to sleep in a chair sitting with my feet up. I'm so thrilled with this product I definitely recommend it to anyone specifically interested in BP function... it calculates results pretty darn close to my BP/HR/TEMP monitors that I use. I am so happy to be able to check BP when away from home due to my highly fluctuating pressure. I was a little concerned trying to sync ring up to phone that it wasn't going to be compatible... but I just googled difficulties I was having and was able to figure it out. (Doesn't come with very detailed instructions) Conclusion: I'm so happy I bought it and the price was right definitely worth it!!!

This ring looks and feels great on. Still working to calibrate Blood pressure and glucose tracking to get more accurate readings but glad there is a calibration function. Love the real time EKG. Better sizing instructions would be appreciated it came smaller than I measured but fits another finger. All in all not a bad product.
